Jean-Leon Gerome

Jean-Leon Gerome (1824–1904) was a French Academic painter specializing in historical and Orientalist subjects.

Gerome’s art combines classical themes with exoticism. His meticulously rendered scenes depict ancient Rome, Egypt, and the Middle East. His works, such as “The Snake Charmer” and “Pollice Verso,” transport viewers to distant epochs and cultures.
