Wassily Kandinsky

Wassily Kandinsky (1866–1944) was a Russian painter credited with pioneering abstract art.

Kandinsky believed in the spiritual power of color and form. His abstract compositions, such as “Composition VII” and “Yellow-Red-Blue,” transcend representation. His theories on art and synesthesia influenced the development of non-objective painting.
