ヴィンセント・ファン・ゴッホ

Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890) was a Dutch post-Impressionist painter whose revolutionary use of color and expressive brushwork made him one of the most influential figures in Western art history. Despite creating over 2,100 artworks in just a decade, his work gained widespread recognition only after his death, and he is now regarded as one of the greatest artists of all time.

Van Gogh’s early works were characterized by somber tones and realistic depictions of peasant life, but his style evolved dramatically after moving to Paris and immersing himself in the works of the Impressionists. His time in the south of France, particularly in Arles, led to the creation of some of his most famous pieces, including Sunflowers, Starry Night, and The Bedroom, known for their bold colors and swirling forms.

Throughout his life, van Gogh struggled with mental health issues, which he depicted in his deeply emotional and introspective self-portraits. His intense emotional connection to his subjects and his pioneering use of color and brushstroke laid the foundation for modern art, influencing countless artists and movements that followed.
