Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890) was a Dutch post-Impressionist painter whose revolutionary use of color and expressive brushwork made him one of the most influential figures in Western art history. Despite creating over 2,100 artworks in just a decade, his work gained widespread recognition only after his death, and he is now regarded as one of the greatest artists of all time.

Van Gogh’s early works were characterized by somber tones and realistic depictions of peasant life, but his style evolved dramatically after moving to Paris and immersing himself in the works of the Impressionists.
